All payments into Court are to be made by cheque payable to: The Senior Master of the Supreme Court.
Cheques must be accompanied by a copy of the authenticated order which provides for the payment into Court. The order provided need not be an original.
The order may not provide for a fixed amount to be paid into Court, but rather direct that, for example, one half of the net residue of a deceased estate be paid into Court. In such cases the payment must also be accompanied by an accounting for the amount tendered.
Practitioners are referred to Order 79 of the Supreme Court (General Civil Procedure Rules) 2005 as to the requirements regarding authentication and service of the order.
