Funds in Court acknowledges the vital role that legal practitioners play in assisting our clients and recognises that law practices should be entitled to be fairly and reasonably remunerated for the work that they do and to have their claims considered in a timely manner.

Law practices are entitled to submit a claim for solicitor/client costs from the funds held in Court after the client’s claim for costs as between parties is finalised. Applications for solicitor/client costs are carefully scrutinised by the Court and the Senior Master will not make any order for costs until satisfied that the amount being paid is fair, reasonable and proportionate having regard to all the circumstances of the matter including the amount paid into Court on behalf of the client.
