The following staff at Funds in Court [FIC] provide a range of support services for clients.
Client Services Officers
All clients are assigned a Client Services Officer, who is their primary point of contact with FIC.
Client Services Officers assist clients to access their funds, either to purchase an item or for daily expenses. Clients need to apply to the Senior Master whenever they want to use their funds in Court.
The Client Services Officers help clients by:
- preparing and submitting court orders and other documents for consideration by the Senior Master
- assisting clients with their applications to access funds
- making recommendations to the Senior Master.
Client Services Officers also deal with other parties such as Centrelink, the Ministry of Housing and the Transport Accident Commission for, and on behalf of, clients.
Client Services Officers need to be aware of clients’ quality of life, financial circumstances, future rehabilitation needs and ongoing financial security. It is a complex role. Client Services Officers have broad experience in the administration of funds for people with a disability. Client Services Officers undertake extensive training and professional development.
Client Liaison Officers
FIC also has a team of Client Liaison Officers (CLOs) who visit clients in their homes, presenting an opportunity to talk to FIC face to face. It is a chance for clients to raise any concerns they have and to discuss plans for the future.
The purpose of these visits is for FIC to get to know clients and their families and to assist the Client Services Officers in making recommendations to the Senior Master. Following visits, recommendations are often made in relation to:
- support services that are needed or have been requested
- financial assistance
- advocacy in relation to support in dealing with rehabilitation providers and community organisations.
The CLOs can also help clients work out what they need such as:
- attendant care needs
- rehabilitation
- accommodation options
- house modifications
- counselling.
Reception, administration and ICT staff
Our office receptionists and a team of administrative support staff provide assistance across the functions of FIC.
Reception and administration staff ensure the smooth running of the Office and assist clients when they contact FIC.
FIC has its own in-house Information and Communication Technology Services who manage the secure, internal IT systems and maintain FIC’s extensive electronic document management system.
