The Wrongs Act 1958 (Vic) applies to claims for damages in personal injury cases which do not involve transport accidents, work injuries or other injuries as specified.
Depending on their injury, people will receive a ‘damages’ payment under the Wrongs Act which may include an amount for:
- medical expenses
- loss of earnings and earning capacity
- pain and suffering.
Clients of the Court relating to a Wrongs Act case are able to apply to access their funds in Court to pay for items and services. The Senior Master will continue to administer their funds in Court unless they can prove they have capacity to manage their own affairs.
