National Redress Scheme applications close 30 June 2027

The National Redress Scheme is available to people who experienced child sexual abuse while in an institution.

Applications to the National Redress Scheme close on 30 June 2027.

Successful applicants may receive redress in the form of:

  • a payment
  • access to counselling and psychological care, and
  • a direct personal response from a participating institution.

Free and confidential support services are available to help people understand the Scheme, consider their options and, if they choose, complete an application.

Independent legal assistance and financial counselling are also available. People should get independent legal advice to understand their options before deciding whether to accept any offer of redress.

The National Redress Scheme website explains:

  • who is eligible
  • what support is available
  • what institutions are participating
  • how to apply.
