This section looks at how Funds in Court [FIC] works and how it is governed. There is also information on who we help and how you can get involved.

If you are a client of the court, you can visit our section For Clients.

FIC is an Office of the Supreme Court of Victoria. FIC administers funds held in Court, and assets purchased from them, for people with a disability.

People who have their funds held in Court are known as clients. FIC supports the Senior Master in managing funds and providing assistance for more than 7,000 clients. The Senior Master is an Associate Judge of the Supreme Court of Victoria.

The Office acts in a manner that is consistent with the law and in the best interests of beneficiaries of the Court.

Cost Recovery

FIC does not charge fees for the administration of funds. The Senior Master does partially recoup operating costs by recommending crediting rates of interest for Common Fund No. 2 that are usually slightly less than the income actually produced by the investments.
