Funds in Court [FIC] is a part of the Supreme Court of Victoria.
FIC looks after funds paid into Court. This is usually money from the Supreme Court, the County Court, the Magistrates’ Court or the Victims of Crime Assistance Tribunal (VOCAT).
This money can be:
- compensation
- money from a will
- payments for people under 18 who have lost a parent or have been victims of crime.
FIC supports the Senior Master in managing funds and providing assistance for more than 7,000 clients. The Senior Master is an Associate Judge of the Supreme Court of Victoria.
If you have funds in Court, it means that the Senior Master holds your money awarded through the courts. It is like a trust fund.
FIC aims to provide the best possible outcome for all clients. If you would like to know more, see What we do.
