The Transport Accident Commission (TAC) pays for a large number of medical, rehabilitation and disability services. This includes things like hydrotherapy, speech pathology, attendant care or seeing a chiropractor.

This is not part of your settlement amount, but on top of what you receive through the Court.

If there are some treatments that are not covered by TAC you should talk to your Client Services Officer to see if there are other options for you, or if you can apply to the Senior Master to pay for the treatment through you funds held in Court.

The TAC have a lot of information on their website and they outline each service that can be covered. See TAC – What the TAC pays for – Medical services.

TAC are also obligated to meet the costs of modifying your home or car to suit your injury or disability. To find out more see Modifying a house or Modifying a car.

Funds in Court [FIC] works closely with TAC to make sure your needs are met. We can help assist you in dealing with the TAC.
