You can apply to use your funds held in Court to help pay for the cost of school, TAFE or university. If the client is a child, then parents or carers may apply for the cost of education expenses.
Education expenses include:
- school fees and course fees
- training expenses
- text books
- stationery
- school uniforms.
You might also need a computer to assist with your studies. If you do, you should read our page on Computers.
How to apply
You should always talk to your Client Services Officer before you make any purchases. They will help you with your application to access funds held in Court.
You can make an application by either:
- talking to your Client Services Officer
- sending us an email or letter.
If you send a request, your Client Services Officer will contact you to confirm the details. See Contact us for our contact details.
Your Client Services Officer will ask you to submit a tax invoice from the school. This will be sent with your application to the Senior Master.
The Senior Master will consider if your funds can afford to pay for the request.
If the Senior Master approves your application, your Client Services Officer will contact you and let you know you can pay for the expenses. For some items like school fees, they will send a cheque payable to the school.
If the Senior Master does not approve your application, your Client Services Officer may be able to help you amend your application or they might have another option for you to follow.
